MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A four-year-old girl was struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening in Rutherford County.

Officials with the Rutherford County Emergency Management said the incident happened around 7 p.m. just off of 231 South in the Colonial Estates neighborhood.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol said 30-year-old Kacey Craft was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Laurel Lane when she hit Alyza Jenkins, who was attempting to cross the street. Troopers said Jenkins was trying to go home from a neighbor's house across the street.

Jenkins was flown by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was said to be in stable condition.

Craft was cited for not wearing a seatbelt, but it was unclear if she would face other charges.
