All lanes of Interstate 24 West have reopened in Murfreesboro following a wreck involving a tractor-trailer on Wednesday morning.
The roadway was shut down for hours, causing major traffic delays.
Murfreesboro Fire Department Shift Commander Tim Swann said an Averitt Express truck carrying auto manufacturing parts hit the wall between I-24 and the off-ramp for Exit 76 just before 4 a.m. The cause of the crash is unknown.
Concrete debris from the crash is now spread out along the roadway.
Officials said the semi driver was taken by ambulance to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. There is no word on his condition.
To navigate around the crash, drivers can try taking Murfreesboro Road or SR 840 to Interstate 65.
