Bettye J. Phillips, age 69 of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, November 21, 2014. A native of Jonesville, LA, she was the daughter of the late Walter Edgar and Jewel Hope Keathly Henderson. Mrs. Phillips was also preceded in death by a son, Malcolm "Sonny" Burrow, a brother, W.C. Henderson, and by her husband, Roy Earl Phillips who died in 2008.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her daughter, Tami Highfill and her husband Mike of Murfreesboro, TN; son, Tim Phillips and his wife Tracy of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Wayne Henderson of Minot, North Dakota, Herman "Buddy" Henderson of Lafayette, IN, and Mike Henderson of Hopkinsville, KY; sisters, Mary Ann Devlin of Johnstown, PA, Virginia Smith of Hopkinsville, KY, Opal Sue Lambert of Kansas City, MO, and Rowena Davis of Hopkinsville, KY; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Reverend Tim Fisher officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Jason, Chase, and Blayne Highfill, Wes Alexander, Austin Ritter, and Jared Phillips serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxon Highfill and Tyler Ritter.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired Department Manager with Wal-Mart.
