Mattie Lou Lannom Patterson, age 80 of Smyrna, TN, died Sunday June 1, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late J. T. Lannom and Mattie Elizabeth Bingham Lannom Potts. Mrs. Patterson was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Croft and two grandchildren, Marcie Fann and Joe Dean Bell, and life partner, Walter Layhew.

Mrs. Patterson is survived by a son, Mike Patterson, and his wife, Mary of Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Wanda Bond and her husband John, and Lisa Duke and her husband Steve all of LaVergne, TN, and Joanne McCurley of Smyrna, TN; the father of her children, Jesse J. Patterson of Smyrna, TN; sister Bessie Klein of Murfreesboro, TN; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM. Pastor Carlos Saddler will officiate. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery with grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Patterson attented the Pentecostals of Smyrna, and loved the Atlanta Braves. David W. Brunner, age 79, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014. A native of Nashville, TN he was the son of the late Frank Agnes Brunner and Jessie Loraine Shotwell Brunner.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with military honors. Brother Greg Vick will officiate. Mr. Brunner is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy “Dot” Toseland Brunner; children, David C. Brunner and his wife Sandra of McEwen, TN; Marian C. Travis and her husband James of Rockvale; Hollie Michelle Brunner Tollett and her husband Gary of Nolensville; Michael Gene Burnett of Chapel Hill, TN; Kimberly Chaffin Reed and her husband Tim; and Daniel Lee Brunner and his wife Kelly of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Sandra Brunner and Betty June Pope both of Murfreesboro; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Brunner was a member of Stewarts Creek Church of Christ. He was a retired pilot with the United States Air Force having served in the Vietnam War.
