Ruth Walkup, age 87, of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2014. A native of Cannon County, TN she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Eliza Ferrell Dickens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Hall Walkup; and son, David Walkup.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Terry Davenport will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Walkup is survived by her son, Bryan Walkup and his wife Lynne of Murfreesboro, TN; grandson, Ben Walkup and his wife Whitney of Old Hickory, TN; and granddaughter, Courtney Walkup of Knoxville, TN.
Mrs. Walkup was a devoted member of the Church of Christ.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Mrs. Walkup.
Visitation will be Saturday 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
